A Focus On Neighborhood
This site seeks to enhance access to information about developments, traffic and other neighborhood issues and happenings in the Poplar Bridge neighborhood of Northwest Bloomington, and to promote neighborhood involvement.

A homeowner in the Poplar Bridge neighborhood asks for reasonable consideration from passing drivers.

11-5-07  City Council Approves a 418 Unit Apartment Development near 84th & Normandale.  The proposed development consists of two 4-story rental apartment buildings at 5100 West 82nd Street at the old Seagate site. Parking for 689 vehicles would be provided in two 5-level parking ramps physically connected to each of the apartment buildings.  -More-
8200 Norman Center Office Tower Under Construction.  Under construction is an 11-story, 285,000 gross square foot office building, an adjacent 6-story parking ramp with 1,184 spaces.  The parking ramp will be designed to accommodate another level of parking to provide an additional 232 spaces in the future.
Norman Point II Almost Complete.  Duke-Weeks Realty Limited Partnership received approval of a final development plan for Norman Pointe II (building no. 2) which is a 332,000 square foot office building.   In December 2005 the applicant received approval of a revised final development plan. Changes include adding a floor (from 9 to 10 stories), decreasing the building floor plate, creating underground parking deck levels, and combining transit stops to create a single transit stop.
Denny Hecker Automotive Group has opened a used car dealership at the former American Ford site.  They also plan to sell a line of neighborhood electric vehicles at this location. Walser Automotive has swapped locations for its Buick/GMC and Toyota dealerships.  The Toyota dealership is now located on the former site of the Lincoln Del and Grandma's restaurants.

A new 11 story, 256 room full service Hilton Hotel at France Avenue and American Boulevard is almost complete.  on a 161,996 square foot (3.72 acre) parcel. The development includes four meeting rooms totaling, a ballroom, business center, swimming pool and fitness center, a 140 seat restaurant and a 30 seat bar and lounge.
